To avoid any ladies-who-lunch stuffiness, pair ruffles with edgier pieces and add a bit of madcap glamour to an April outfit. The frills of a girly top can be balanced with sleek pencil skirts or skinny jeans, while tiered A-line skirts shine with simple tanks. Any sort of ruffly embellishment is just too over the top when paired with florals, so avoid anything that just screams for an Easter egg hunt. Strategically placed ruffles—particularly at the collar of tops or the hems of skirts—frame your lovely face as well as providing a nice balance to your springtime silhouette. Ultimately, ruffles are all about playful touches that suggest the beautiful weather and blooming flowers to come!
