If you’re anything like me, you have go-to outfits for many different occasions. (For example, I wear a black Theory shirtdress with black tights and electric blue Calypso flats for interviews, and a navy button-down with high-waisted white shorts and gold Car Shoe gladiator sandals for shopping during the summer.) This tiny Beacon Hill boutique offers the latest from cute contemporary lines like Cosabella, Eberjey, and Hanky Panky. Yes, the prices are a little higher than Victoria’s Secret, but there is more personal service and a wider selection of small sizes than you would find in most mall chains.

INTIMACY
Maybe you've read somewhere that three-quarters of American women wear the wrong bra size, usually too small in the cup and too large in the band. The Copley Place outpost of this national chain promises a “life-changing, mind-blowing bra fit makeover.” Be prepared to fill out a long questionnaire and strip to the waist while a (discreet and experienced) bra-fit specialist sizes you up with her eyes, no tape measures included. She’ll then bring you a variety of bra styles to try on, from high-end brands like Aubade and Chantelle. Appointments recommended.

In the same price range but a little, well, more tasteful than Agent Provocateur, the famed La Perla offers beautiful underwear in a minimalist setting that makes you wonder if you’re shopping at Chanel or Armani rather than a bra store.
