Inner Beauty: Abby Schoenberg

The concept of beauty is tough to define; what does it really mean to be beautiful? Freeze knows that it takes more than a pretty face, and we've spotted some rockin' Harvard girls who are simply beautiful, inside and out!
Abby Schoenberg '12 is a great example of how beauty is not merely skin deep; she has the sweet personality and caring heart to match her fabulous looks. Since eighth grade, the bubbly freshman has been involved in Roots & Shoots, Jane Goodall's international organization which has nearly 8,000 groups in close to 100 countries. The program promotes aid to three crucial and ground-breaking branches: humanitarianism, animal rights, and environmental conservatism. Abby, after meeting with Dr. Goodall, took the initiative and started a group in her middle school, continuing to volunteer her time throughout high school. She was selected as one of the institute's interns, and got the chance to work with some remarkable leaders on global challenges. Now Abby has her sights set on starting a group here at Harvard! In doing so, she hopes to help launch a fresh water initiative for the Boston community and bring college students together in service.
